June Program - Using Pro Show Gold Software with Peter Hughes

The June training session will take place on Wednesday, June 21st and feature Peter Hughes and Pro Show Gold software. Pro Show Gold allows you to quickly build multimedia presentations quickly that will make your clients go "WOW". Increase sales by increasing your client's interest in the images that you take.

Arrive by 7:30 pm to get a good seat and to network. The program starts promptly at 8:00 pm.

 President's Message

There are a lot of great things happening within the Guild this month and rather than write a column on one subject I felt the need to share ideas.

Thank You
First of all my family and I greatly appreciated the Guild's response to the lost of my father on April 10th. The flowers, card, emails, and presence of several members at the funeral was heartwarming and encouraging to me. Lately, I've come to realize how important relationships are in ones life. It is this same insight that I want to instill in every member and guest who participates in PPGF. As a group of photographers who meet on a regular basis, there is nothing we should hold back from doing or sharing with another guild member. We all benefit when we support each other. We are family.

Legendary Wedding Photographers Series
This month's training seminar launches a series featuring two of the most influential wedding photographers in the industry: Andy Marcus and Monte Zucker. Is there any serious photographer, pro or amateur, who has not seen or heard of these two photographers? We are fortunate to have both of these men share with us their genius.

Andy will lead off the series as he reveals his trade secrets on booking and photographing high-end clients. Monte's "Spend A Day With Monte" will conclude the series with a hands-on workshop that will involve personal interaction with this legendary photographer and speaker. One way to save on admission fees is to join PPGF and as a member you can attend both sessions for free. Don't forget to invite a guest or employee so they too can meet one of these legendary photographers up close and personal.

Hot merchandise
If you haven't seen it yet, several PPGF members are sporting our newly designed Guild T-shirt. The shirts are available in several colors and can be purchased (if in stock) or ordered during any of our regular training sessions. For members who are interested in a polo version we are expecting a sample version to be on display during the May 10th training session. The t-shirts identify you as a professional photographer, make a great gift item, and the proceeds from the sales of the shirts help support our budget for future speakers.

2006 Annual Picnic
It's official! The Executive Board has finally selected a date and time for the 2006 Annual Picnic. The location will be C. B. Smith Park, August 13, 2006, from 1 pm to 4 pm. This will be a family affair with food and fun and a chance to get to know each other on a personal level that is not available during monthly meetings. Guests and clients are invited too. The event will be RSVP, so look for additional information at meetings and on the PPGF website.

Giveaways
Over the passed months the Guild has received some awesome giveaway prizes from speakers and sponsors. Currently, we're raffling off software, advertisement printing, discount coupons, and some free prizes worth hundreds of dollars. Greg Roland is the Publicity Chairman and prior to each meeting he offers members the chance to invest in the raffle. So, if you've never won anything in your life, the odds are good that you could purchase and hold a winning ticket. Last month I won a prize! (Now that was a first).

May Program: Wedding Photography Featuring Andy Marcus

Last Month's Program

Many thanks to our April presenters, Paul Jacobs and Alex Martinez from Netniques Inc., on their helpful and informative program on Direct Mail Marketing. Paul is the General Manager of Netniques and Alex is the Marketing Director. Paul and Alex explained the effectiveness of direct marketing with full color products. Furthermore, they explained how to get promotional pieces printed and distributed cost effectively.

Tale of 5 Presidents
Present at the April meeting were five PPGF Presidents. They are (from left to right) current President, Willie Hill, Jr., Lou Gillard, Jim Swallow, Giancarlo Frasca, and Tom Collins. Each has served PPGF with distinction and it was nice to see them together in one place.
