New Meeting Location

New meeting location. Effective immediately, all future meetings of the General Membership will be held at the Kovens Conference Center, on the Biscayne Bay campus of Florida International University.


March Program - "From Kids to Critters" with Marybeth Hamberger

The next meeting will take place on Wednesday, March 19th at 7:30 pm. Our featured speaker is Marybeth Hamberger.

Marybeth has built her business on shooting children and pets. Marybeth will share her techniques for photographing these subjects as well as her techniques for marketing in this niche.

A talented presenter, Marybeth will entertain you and educate you. As the coordinator of the FPP School, we are lucky to have Marybeth as a guess speaker.


Education is the Key to Success

If there is one thing I have always believed, it is that education makes all things possible, or at least a great many things. We can work hard, have talent, faith, good intentions, even have some good luck, but unless we know what we’re doing and how we’re supposed to do it, it’s almost a sure bet that we won’t have the success we are striving for.

Most of us are in this field because we have a passion for creating images that people will respond to on some emotional level. We want to make them laugh or cry or remember something or just be darned impressed with the quality and the uniqueness of our work. We love the creative process and get most of our personal satisfaction from it. However, to build a successful photographic business we must be interested in more. We must educate ourselves in every aspect of both photography and the operating of a business. (Continued)

 President's Message

Our Digital Trade Show is coming up on April 7th. Learn to reinvent yourself, make your skills come alive, break the rules, and see the latest digital solutions. This is what this show is about! This show will be bigger than the last. We also plan a program in Spanish.

Last month's print competition was a success. We had a lot of entries and there were a lot of great photographs. My congratulations to everyone for your supreme effort.

Also, a special thank to to our judges, Nancy Bell Hamilton, Julio Hernandez, and Terry Allison. You all did a superb job and I appreciate the difficult job that you do.

February's Program
Print Competition

The big winner at last month's print competition was Geraldine Lago. Her image, A Sister's Tears, won Best of Show. Geraldine also took a second place in the Storybook category, and a third place in the Unclassified category.

The quality of images in the competition was exceptionally good. Many thanks to our judges, Julio Hernandez, Nancy Bell Hamilton, and FPP President, Terry Allison.

 


PPGF Digital Imaging Trade Show - April 7, 2003

Based upon the success of our first digital trade show last October, PPGF is currently planning it's second trade show. The trade show is scheduled to take place on Monday, April 7, 2003 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Sunrise.

Jay Kelbey of Kodak Professional Services will delivers the Keynote Address for the show. Hear Mr. Kelbey's at 11:00 am on the center stage. Kodak also promises to have fully functional production models of the NEW Kodak DCS 14n digital camera available for hands-on test and evaluation.


January Raw Print Competition

Points are earned each month for entering the Raw Print Competition that count toward the Top 10 Photographer of the Year. The winner of the analog raw print competition was Jon Laye. The winner of the digital raw print competition was Tom Collins.

 

 

 


Nude / Glamour Seminar - In Spanish

Pro Angle Photo proudly invites you to participate in an exciting Glamour / Nude Photographic Seminar / Workshop conducted by famous Latin America Photographer Rudy Hanak. Rudy is a lead photographer for Editorial Perfil in Latin America, where his tasteful Glamour photographic artistry has graced the editorials and covers of magazines, such as Playboy, Caras, Semana and other prestigious Latin America Publications.

This is a five day event starting on Monday March 17th through Friday March 21st. There is a special introductory fee of $25.00 per day which is refundable with a purchase of $100 or more.
