 President's Message

The year 2005 is here and we have a lot of work to do. Our primary goal is to increase our memberhip and to bring quality programs and speakers to our Guild. Also a priority is to identify a new meeting place which is accessible and affordable. We have a lot of work to do and we can accomplish much if we work together.

Membership is vital to the success of the Guild. The more members we have the easier it is for us to bring in quality programs. We are among the best photographers in South Florida and the camaraderie between Guild members can only enhance our profession.

This month's program will be the first in our new meeting place, Cafe Iguana in Pembroke Pines. We have a dynamic program with Robert Lino sharing his secrets for lighting and posing. Come out and have something to eat and drink with us. We hope to see you there.

Dean Collins

On February 2, 2005, photographer and educator, Dean Collins, lost his battle with caner. Dean was 51 years old. A memorial service was held on February 12th at Sonrise Community Church, in Santee, California.

Arguably, Dean did more to educate photographers and enhance our profession than did any other photographer. His Finelight video series set a new standard by provideing innovative content, quality post-production, and were reasonably priced. In many ways, Dean was the "photographers photographer".

Dean will truely be missed.
